How it works and good to know

The default formula is Mifflin-St Jeor (1990), and you can switch to the revised Harris-Benedict equation (1984). Daily calories burned (TDEE) is BMR multiplied by an activity factor of 1.2–1.9. Calorie targets estimate 1 kg of body fat as about 7,700 kcal and show losing 0.25 or 0.5 kg a week, maintaining, and gaining 0.25 kg a week; targets below 1,200 kcal for women, 1,500 kcal for men, or below your BMR are flagged. These are reference values for adults aged 15–100 and don’t replace medical or nutrition advice.

Calculates your basal metabolic rate — what you burn at rest — and your daily calories burned with your activity level.

Formulas: Mifflin-St Jeor (1990) and the revised Harris-Benedict equation (Roza & Shizgal 1984). Results can differ from reality by more than 10% depending on muscle mass, body fat and health conditions, so use them as a reference only; they do not replace medical or nutrition advice.
