How it works and good to know
Put the whole part in the whole box (a minus sign in front for negatives) and the fraction part in the numerator and denominator boxes. A mixed number such as 3 1/2 is first turned into an improper fraction (7/2). Adding and subtracting use the least common multiple of the denominators, multiplying multiplies numerators and denominators, and dividing multiplies by the reciprocal of the second fraction. The answer is always reduced by the greatest common divisor, and improper fractions are also shown as mixed numbers. A terminating decimal is exact; a repeating one is shown with its repeating block, like 0.1(6), plus a value rounded to 10 decimal places. Everything is calculated with BigInt integers, so large numbers do not overflow; each box takes up to 30 digits. A zero denominator or division by zero is not calculated and the reason is shown. Nothing you type is saved or sent to a server.
