    How to use

Everything you enter is processed only in this browser.

    1. 01

      Choose dog or cat

    2. 02

For dogs, pick the size by adult weight

    3. 03

Enter the age and see it in human years

How it works and good to know

Cats follow the AAHA/AAFP 2021 life stage guidelines table (1 year = 15, 2 years = 24, then +4 per year), and dogs follow the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) table by weight (small up to 9 kg, medium, large and giant). Ages under one year and values between table rows are interpolated in a straight line. For dogs aged 1 and over, the DNA methylation formula from UC San Diego research (16·ln(age) + 31) is shown as well. All values are approximate.
