How to use Password Generator
Check the service's requirements
First check the allowed length, the required character types, and the symbols you can use. The symbols this tool supports may differ from those the service accepts. Checking the rules reduces the chance of being rejected after generating.
Choose the length and character types
Select the uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols to use. If you turn all types off, it can't generate. If you plan to read and type it by hand, you can use the exclude confusing characters option.
Check the generated result
Each press of the generate button makes a new random value. Each selected character type is included and the result matches the length you set. If you change options, generate again with the new conditions.
Copy it, use it, and store it where you manage passwords
Paste it into the service's password field and keep it in a password manager or similar that you manage. This page is not storage for getting the result back later. It's best not to reuse it for another account's password.
What it’s good for
Match the password rules of the service
First check the length and symbols the service you're signing up for allows. Choose which of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols to use, and each selected type is included at least once. You can choose a length between 8 and 128 characters.
Keeping the generated password
Passwords are generated with the browser's cryptographic random numbers. After copying the result, keep it somewhere safe that you manage, such as a password manager. Use a different password for each site, and when typing is a hassle, you can use the option to exclude confusing characters.

When the result isn’t what you expected
The generate button isn't available
Check that at least one character type is on and that the length is a whole number from 8 to 128. Change it to an allowed range and generate again. If the previous result disappeared, it may be the normal reset after changing options.
The sign-up screen won't accept the password
Recheck the allowed symbols, length and required types. This tool can't know the rules of the service you're signing up for. Set it to match the rules and use a newly generated value.
I closed the page and can't find the password
Generated results are not kept on a server or account, so they can't be recovered on this page. If you already set it on an account, use that service's password reset process. Next time, finish storing it before closing the page.

Password Generator FAQ
Can I see a generated password again later?
This tool does not save generated results to a server or an account. Keep the value you need somewhere else before you close the page or clear the result.
What does excluding confusing characters remove?
It excludes the letters O, o, I and l and the digits 0 and 1. The other characters are generated according to the character types you selected.
Which special characters are supported?
The symbol option uses ! @ # $ % & * + - = ?. Each service allows different symbols, so check the sign-up rules of that service.
Does a generated password mean it's guaranteed safe?
The generation method alone can't guarantee an account's safety. The service's authentication method, whether you reuse passwords, and how you store and use them also matter. Use any additional verification the service offers as well.
If I only change the options, does the current password change too?
After changing options you need to generate anew. It doesn't work by editing part of an existing string and showing it as the result.
