QR Code Generator
Make QR codes for links, Wi-Fi, contacts and more with dot or rounded patterns, your colors, a logo and a “Scan me” frame, saved as PNG or SVG. Each code is scanned back to check it reads.
What goes in the QR code
Enter a link and anyone who scans the code can open it.
Adds utm_source=qr to the link, so the destination site’s analytics (such as Google Analytics) can show visits that came from the QR code.
Shape
Every shape is scanned back after it is made. Dots read less reliably when printed very small.
Colors
Contrast 15.1:1 — easy to scan.
Frame and label
Center logo
PNG, JPG, WebP, or SVG up to 2 MB. Adding a logo raises error correction to Maximum and keeps it within 22% of the side.
Export settings
Higher levels still scan when part of the code is covered, but the code gets denser. Low gives short links the sparsest code, easiest to scan from afar.
Your QR code
Your QR code will appear here
Enter content and the QR code appears right away.
PNG 768px · SVG vector
For print, use the SVG — it stays sharp at any size.

QR Code Generator: complete guide
Walk through the steps and examples, or jump straight to the topic you need.
At a glance
- What it holds
- A web address or text. Input is up to 1,800 characters, and how much can actually be generated depends on the content and the error correction level.
- PNG size
- Choose 256, 512, 768 or 1024px. The default is 768px.
- Error correction
- Default (M), High (Q) and Maximum (H) are supported.
- Saving
- Download a PNG image and an SVG vector file.
- QR type
- A static QR that holds your input as it is. There is no address changing or scan statistics.
How to use QR Code Generator
Enter the address you want to open exactly
Put your content in Link or text. To open a website, it is clearest to use the full address including https://. The QR code holds exactly what you enter, so first check the address for typos and stray spaces.
Choose the size and error correction you will use
Decide the PNG size for where you will place it, and choose an error correction level. Raising error correction can make the code denser. On small printed pieces, consider the content length and the actual printed size together.
Run Create QR code
After the preview and completion message appear, you can download it. If you change the content or settings, the existing result is cleared. To apply a new address or size, create it again.
Actually scan the file you saved
After saving the PNG or SVG, check that a phone can read it. If you put it on printed material, check it at the final printed size too. Cutting off the white margin around it or squashing the code can make it hard to scan.
What it’s good for
Create a QR code from a link or text
To open a web page, enter the complete address starting with https://. Plain text can be put in a QR code too. Check the content, generate the code, and then scan it with a real phone to verify the destination and how well it reads.
PNG size and saving as SVG
For PNG you choose from 256, 512, 768 and 1024px. SVG is a vector format, so you can use it when you enlarge the code for printing. Raising error correction makes it more likely to read despite some damage, but the code gets denser. Leave enough print size and surrounding margin.
Worked examples
A QR code that links to UtilPick

PNG 768 x 768px + SVGA QR code holding a short notice
The meeting room is on the 2nd floor.
PNG 512px · error correction DefaultContent held: The meeting room is on the 2nd floor.
PNG 512 x 512px + SVGHow to choose a file format and error correction
Swipe the table sideways to see the rest.
| Choice | Good for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| PNG | Placing it as an image in a web page or slide | Pick the pixel size you need and avoid enlarging it too much. |
| SVG | Print materials and design work where the size changes | Use it in an editor that supports vectors and keep the surrounding margin. |
| High and Maximum error correction | QR codes that must allow for some chance of damage | The code can get denser, so check scanning at the actual size. |
When the result isn’t what you expected
I entered content but generation fails
Content with many bytes per character, such as Korean, Japanese or Chinese text, can be hard to fit in a QR code even within the character limit. Shorten the content or switch error correction to Default, then generate again.
The camera cannot read the QR code
Check that the white margin around it is still there and that it was not printed too small or blurry. Put in the original file again and test at the actual size. If you added a logo, check that it does not cover too much of the pattern. If you saved with a transparent background, make sure it sits on a light surface; it will not scan on a dark one.
It scans but opens the wrong page
First check the input address shown in the result. The address held in a QR code does not change after generation, so you need to create it again with the correct address. Also check whether the destination site redirects to another address.
Key terms
- Static QR
- A QR code that holds the content from the moment it was made, in the image itself.
- Error correction
- A method of adding extra information so the original data can be recovered even if part of the code is hard to read.
- SVG
- A vector file format that describes an image with lines and shapes.
QR Code Generator FAQ
Does the QR code I make expire?
The static QR image itself has no expiration date set by this tool. However, if the web address in the QR is deleted or the service shuts down, it can no longer connect.
Can I change the link or see visit counts after generating it?
This tool makes a static QR code that holds exactly what you entered. It does not offer changing the destination or scan statistics. To change the address, you need to generate the QR code again.
Do I need to make the QR code again if I change the PNG size?
Yes. Changing the content or the generation settings invalidates the previous result. Generate the QR code with the new settings, then download it.
Can I put a logo in the middle or change the colors?
Yes. Choose the code and background colors and place a logo image in the center, and error correction automatically becomes Maximum (H). The tool reads the generated code again in the browser to check it, and tells you if the contrast is low or the light and dark colors are inverted. If you edit the result in another editor, you need to check again that it scans.
Can I upload a QR image and read its content?
This page is a tool for generating QR codes. It does not offer uploading a QR image or scanning with a camera.
