How it works and good to know

Long-form pays 55% of net ad revenue and Shorts pay 45% of the amount allocated from the Creator Pool (YouTube Help, checked 2026-10-02). RPM is revenue per 1,000 views after that split, so it is multiplied as is; the CPM method finds impressions = views × monetized playback rate × ads per playback, then ad revenue, then takes 55%. A month is 30 days and a year 365 days. The withholding rate (10% treaty rate for South Korea residents, editable) applies only to the US share of views. Sample RPMs are not data, and South Korean income tax isn’t deducted. No channel is looked up; everything runs in this browser.

Long-form pays 55% of net ad revenue; Shorts pay 45% of the amount allocated from the Creator Pool (YouTube Help, checked 2026-10-02). RPM is already after this split, so it is multiplied as is. Sample RPMs are not data and vary widely by topic, audience country and season. South Korean income tax is not deducted because it depends on your other income. No channel is looked up; everything runs in this browser.

    How Shorts revenue is split

A worked example that follows the Shorts Creator Pool steps YouTube describes. Real pool amounts aren’t published, so this can’t predict earnings. Defaults are YouTube Help’s own example.
