How it works and good to know
Each plate is a dot pattern generated from a fresh seed; no Ishihara plates are copied. For the red-green (protan, deutan) and blue-yellow (tritan) axes, figure and background colors are pushed in the direction that the Machado (2009) dichromat simulation makes identical, and every dot’s brightness varies 0.8–1.2× so brightness gives nothing away. Ring mode estimates a threshold per axis with a staircase (fast descent, then 2-down-1-up) and reports typical, somewhat harder or clearly harder. Missing the check plate that everyone should see means no tendency is reported. This is an on-screen screening check, not a diagnosis.
