How to use GIF Maker
Add the photos in order
You can add several at once and add more later. The order you add them is the frame order, and you can change it with the arrows.
Set the time per frame
Enter the time each frame stays, in milliseconds. At 100, ten frames pass per second. Click Apply to all frames to give every frame the same time.
Choose the size and looping
A bigger size makes the file bigger. If you turn off Loop forever, it plays once and stops.
Create it, check it, then save
When you click Create GIF, the result plays on screen. Check the speed and order, then save.
What it’s good for
Make an animated image from several photos
When you add photos, the frames advance in the order you added them. You can change the order with the arrows and remove frames you do not need. When you set the time each frame stays, the total length is shown too, and after you create it, the result actually plays on screen so you can check it before saving.
The GIF format limits its colors and timing
A GIF holds at most 256 colors per frame. Photos with many colors are saved with fewer colors, so gradients can show visible banding. The time a frame stays can also only be written in 1/100-second steps, so the value you enter is saved as the closest one. This tool shows you the value that will actually be saved.

| Size | Good for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| 320px | Posting in a messenger or a comment | The smallest file. |
| 480 and 640px | Putting it in a blog or a document | A balance between size and file size. |
| 800px | Showing the picture large | With many frames, the file grows quickly. |
When the result isn’t what you expected
The colors look different from the photo
A GIF holds at most 256 colors per frame. Photos where colors change smoothly, like the sky or skin, can show visible banding. Simple drawings or text images show almost no difference.
The file is too big
Reducing the size or the number of frames makes it smaller. It gets bigger when the colors differ a lot from frame to frame, so it helps to group similar frames together.
The speed is not what I expected
Very short times are played differently by each browser or program. This tool sets a minimum of 20 ms, and if you set it too fast, the speed can differ depending on where it is viewed.
It says a photo could not be opened
Only photo formats your browser can open can be added. A file that could not be opened is not counted as a success; it is reported along with its name. Convert it to another format and add it again.
