- Vertical stitching places images from top to bottom, and horizontal stitching from left to right.
- Fit basis
- Fit to the narrow side, fit to the wide side, or keep the original size. The ratio is kept when fitting.
- Gap
- 0 to 200 px, placed only between photos. No outer margin is added.
- Result limits
- Up to 20,000 px on a side and 50 megapixels overall. If exceeded, it is blocked before creation and you are told why.

How to use Combine Images
Add the photos to join, in order
Drag files in or choose files. After adding, you can still change the order with the up and down buttons in the list and remove any you do not need. The numbers in the list are the order they will be joined.
Choose the direction and fit basis
Split screenshots suit vertical stitching, and before-and-after comparisons suit horizontal stitching. Vertical stitching matches the width and horizontal stitching matches the height. If sizes vary, fitting to the narrow side keeps the result light, while fitting to the wide side can enlarge small photos and make them blurry.
Set the gap and background, then check the preview
A gap makes the photo borders clearer. Leftover space and gaps are filled with the background color, and with PNG they can be left transparent. The preview is drawn with the same layout calculation as saving, so what you see matches the result.
Join and save
Press join to create the image at its real size. You can cancel while it is being created, and changing the photos or settings clears the previous result. The saved file name includes the first photo's name, the number of images, and the direction.
What it’s good for
Join split screenshots into one image
If you captured a screen in several parts, choose vertical stitching and match the width. Fitting to the narrow width shrinks every photo to the width of the narrowest one, while fitting to the wide width enlarges them to match the widest. Either way the aspect ratio is kept. If the order is mixed up, move items with the up and down buttons in the list, and remove any you do not need.
Set the gap and background to make a comparison image
Choose horizontal stitching to place before-and-after photos or comparison images side by side. The gap between photos is 0 to 200 px, and no outer margin is added. The gap and any leftover space are filled with the background color you choose, and with PNG you can also leave them transparent. The on-screen preview is drawn with the same layout calculation used when saving, so what you see matches the result.

| Basis | What happens | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Fit to narrow side | Shrinks the others to match the narrowest photo. | Joining screenshots of mixed resolution into a light file |
| Fit to wide side | Enlarges the others to match the widest photo. | Keeping the quality of the large photos as it is |
| Keep original size | Does not change sizes and fills leftover space with the background color. | When each photo's original size must be kept |
When the result isn’t what you expected
It says the result is too large to create
This happens when it exceeds 20,000 px on a side or 50 megapixels overall. Change the fit basis to the narrow side, or reduce the number of images and join them in parts. The current result size is shown below the preview.
Small photos look blurry
Fitting to the wide side enlarges small photos and blurs them. Choose fit to the narrow side or keep original size to avoid enlarging.
Changing the background color has no effect
If transparent background is on for PNG, the background color is not used. To fill with a color, turn off the transparent background or save as JPG. JPG cannot store transparency, so it is always filled with the background color.
Some photos were not added
Check the reason in the notice below the list. Causes are an unsupported format, over 20 MB, over 100 MB in total, or more than 20 images. Photos you already added and the result are left as they are.
Key terms
- Fit basis
- The setting that decides which side, perpendicular to the joining direction, the images are matched to.
- Gap
- The thickness of the blank line placed between photos. It does not appear on the outer border.
- Pixels (megapixels)
- The total number of dots in an image, counted as width in pixels times height in pixels. This is a different measure from file size.
Combine Images FAQ
How many images can I join?
You can add up to 20 JPG, PNG, or WebP files at a time, 20 MB each and 100 MB in total. The result can be up to 20,000 px on a side and 50 megapixels overall, and you are told before it is created if it exceeds that.
Do photos of different sizes join neatly?
If you match the width or height, sizes are matched while keeping the ratio, and the photos join with no gaps. If you choose original size, leftover space appears, and you can pick start, center, or end alignment and fill it with the background color.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Reading the photos, joining them, and creating the saved file all happen inside this browser.
Can I change the order after joining?
If you change the order in the list, the previous result is cleared and the preview is redrawn in the new order. Press join again and then save.
Can I join PDF or HEIC files?
No. Only JPG, PNG, and WebP are supported, so first convert HEIC with the HEIC to JPG tool and PDF with the PDF to JPG tool.
Can I stop it while it is being created?
Press cancel while it is being created to stop and return to the previous state. The result of a task that finishes late will not overwrite the screen.
