How to use HEIC to JPG
Add your HEIC photos
Just add the photos you moved from your iPhone as they are. As soon as you add them, it checks that they are really HEIC, and a file that is HEIC only by name but has other content is shown with the reason.
Choose the save format
In most cases JPG is enough. The file is small and opens anywhere. If you need to keep the quality as much as possible or plan to keep editing, choose PNG. The size is much larger, though.
Run the conversion
The status is shown for each file. You can stop while it is working, and finished results stay. Even if some fail, the rest keep converting.
Check the results and save
Get them one by one or all at once as a ZIP. It is good to open the saved photos and check the orientation is right. The original HEIC files are left as they are.
What it’s good for
Why HEIC will not open
iPhones save photos in the HEIC format to save storage space. It opens fine on recent Apple devices, but Windows, older programs and some websites cannot read this format. Once converted to JPG, it opens almost everywhere.
So the orientation does not end up sideways
A phone photo has a separate record of which way it was taken. When converting, this information is applied so photos taken in portrait are not saved lying on their side. Open the result and check the orientation is right.

| Format | When to use it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| JPG | When sharing or putting it in a document | It is compressed again, so there is a very slight difference. |
| PNG | When you keep editing or quality matters | The file size gets several times larger. |
| Keep the original | When keeping it without converting | It may not open in Windows or older apps. |
When the result isn’t what you expected
It says it cannot convert in this browser
This environment does not support the features needed for conversion. Please open it again in recent Chrome, Edge or Safari. Conversion happens only inside the browser, so it cannot be handled for you in an unsupported environment.
The photo comes out lying on its side
The orientation is applied when saving, but the original may lack that information or have it recorded wrongly. Fix it with the 90-degree rotation in the photo crop tool and then save.
Conversion fails on a large file
If a photo is too large, the browser may not be able to secure memory. Reduce how many you add at once, close other tabs and try again.

HEIC to JPG FAQ
Which browsers does it work in?
It works in recent Chrome, Edge and Safari. In an unsupported environment, it simply tells you it cannot convert and does not handle it in another way.
Does the quality drop?
Saving as JPG compresses it again, so there is a very slight difference. To keep the quality as much as possible, choose PNG. The files are much larger, though.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion happens inside this browser. The first time, it may take a while because it downloads the module used for conversion.
Can I shoot in JPG on my iPhone in the first place?
In the Camera section of Settings, change the format to Most Compatible and photos are saved as JPG from the start. For photos already taken, convert them with this tool.
Does shooting information stay after converting?
The orientation is applied, but information such as location or shooting time may not remain in the result file as it is. If keeping that information matters, keep the originals too.
How many can I do at once?
Up to 20 at once, 40MB each. If you have more, run them in batches.
