How it works and good to know
Takes one .pptx up to 300 MB. Only the JPEG and PNG photos inside are re-saved, with the long side capped at 2560 px (best quality), 1920 px (balanced) or 1280 px (smallest size); photos that don’t get smaller are left as they are. PNG photos with no transparency and many colors are converted to JPEG, and the links slides use to find those photos are updated to match. Text, shapes, tables, animations, EMF/WMF/SVG images, GIFs, video and audio are not changed, and the space taken by video and audio is shown separately. Older PowerPoint 97–2003 files (.ppt) and password-protected files are not opened. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
