How to use
Everything you enter is processed only in this browser.
Open a PowerPoint (pptx) file or start a blank presentation
Double-click text on a slide to edit it, and insert or change shapes, pictures, tables and slides from the ribbon
Press Save pptx to download the edited file
How it works and good to know
The editor is the GenOffice (Apache-2.0) presentation editor adapted for the browser; about 8 MB is downloaded the first time it opens. .pptx files up to 50 MB can be opened and are saved back as pptx downloads. Saving rewrites only the slides you changed and keeps the rest of the file as it was. Old .ppt files and password-protected files cannot be opened — save as pptx or remove the password in PowerPoint first. Text is shown with the fonts on your device, so line breaks can differ slightly from PowerPoint, but the original font names are kept when you save. Desktop features such as AI, PDF export, printing, presenter view and recording are not included here. It works best on a wide screen; on a phone the menus may look cramped. Files are handled only in this browser and are never sent to a server.
PowerPoint Editor — Edit PPTX Online guide
Fix a presentation you received without PowerPoint
Sometimes you only need to fix a few typos or one date in slides from work or school and you don't have PowerPoint. This editor opens the pptx only inside your browser, lets you edit text and formatting such as bold, color and fonts, shapes, pictures and tables, and the slide order, including adding and deleting slides, and then saves it back as pptx. The editor is a port of the open-source GenOffice (Apache-2.0) presentation editor for the browser.
Only what you changed is rewritten
When you save, only the slides you touched are rewritten, and parts you didn't touch, such as animations, transitions and speaker notes, are kept as they were. Text is shown with the fonts on your device, so line breaks can differ slightly from PowerPoint, but the original font names are kept when you save, so opening the file in PowerPoint shows the original fonts. The editor (about 8MB) is downloaded once the first time you open it.
What it can't do
It can't open old .ppt files or password-protected files. Save as pptx in PowerPoint or remove the password and then open it. Desktop features like AI, PDF export, printing, presenter view and recording are missing. If you only want a smaller file, use Compress PowerPoint.
PowerPoint Editor — Edit PPTX Online FAQ
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened and saved only inside this browser and disappears when you close the page. If there are unsaved changes, the browser asks once more when you leave the page.
Does it work on a phone?
You can open and edit, but the many menus look cramped. For lots of slide edits, a wider screen is recommended.
Can large files be opened?
It opens files up to 50MB. Files with many photos or videos may take a little longer to open.
