    How to use

Everything you enter is processed only in this browser.

    1. 01

Tap Start and allow access to the tilt sensor

    2. 02

Choose surface (lying flat) or edge (standing up) mode and place the phone on the object

    3. 03

Check whether it’s level, the angle, mm per meter and how much to raise one end

How it works and good to know

The browser’s deviceorientation readings (beta, gamma) are converted into the direction of gravity to get left–right and front–back tilt. Height difference per meter is tanθ × 1000 mm and slope is tanθ × 100%. Flip calibration reads twice on the same spot, turning the phone 180° in between: device offset = (a1 + a2) ÷ 2 and true tilt = (a1 − a2) ÷ 2. Sensors report in 0.1° steps and vary by device, so treat readings as a guide. Sensor data is never sent to a server.

Use your phone as a spirit level

Tap Start and allow access to the motion sensor. Surface mode works with the phone lying screen-up; edge mode works with the phone standing on its long or short edge against an object.

To use the tilt sensor, tap Start and choose Allow.

    Measuring mode
    Tolerance counted as level

In surface mode, line up the screen’s left–right direction with the object’s length.

Sensor readings are used only in this browser and never sent to a server.

Phone sensors report in 0.1° steps and each device has errors of a few tenths of a degree, so treat this as a guide of roughly ±0.2–0.5°. Use a dedicated level for construction work. Calibrate first if your phone has a camera bump or case.

If the screen rotates, the display rotates with it. Locking auto-rotate makes it easier.
