How it works and good to know
Takes one video file up to 2 GB and turns up to 30 seconds (600 frames) at a time into a GIF. The video is decoded in your browser with WebCodecs and never sent to a server. A GIF frame holds at most 256 colors, so photo-like footage looks less rich and the file can get large. The tool uses one shared palette picked from scenes across the section, redraws only the part that changed since the previous frame, and merges identical frames to keep the file small. GIF cannot carry sound, so the audio is dropped. If the result passes 100 MB it stops and tells you how to shrink it. Video formats this browser cannot decode (some HEVC files, for example) are reported. There is no downloading from YouTube links.
