How it works and good to know
Takes one video file up to 4 GB and saves the result as MP4. Fast copies the compressed video without decoding it, starting from the nearest key frame before your start point, and uses an MP4 edit list so playback starts exactly where you chose; there is no quality loss and it is quick, but some apps that ignore edit lists may briefly show the frames before the start. Formats that do not belong in MP4 are re-encoded (video such as VP8 to H.264, audio such as Vorbis to AAC). Exact re-encodes to H.264 and AAC so the cut lands on the frames you chose, at a bitrate close to the original. The result is held in memory, so if it would exceed 1 GB the tool asks you to split the selection. Files are never sent to a server, and you can cancel at any time.
